Careers

If you're not just looking for a job, but a career, we want to talk with you. You can learn and grow here. In fact, most of our managers and vice presidents started in the warehouse or at the sales counter. We'll invest the time and training to help you succeed, whether you're looking to move up from a warehouse position or translate your electrical knowledge to a sales job.  You provide the motivation, we'll provide the opportunity.

Joe Baxter, Director of Branch Sales

“I’m proud to say that I’ve been working at Dominion Electric Supply for over 35 years. It's a pleasure coming to work every day in such a family and friendly atmosphere! The pay and benefits are very good, but there’s much more that has kept me here all these years. It’s the culture that starts with the owner and CEO who is down-to-earth, approachable, and very caring about the staff and the customer experience. This culture of excellence permeates through senior- and mid-level management, right down to the rest of the company. It’s inspiring to work for a company that constantly wants to do right by its customers and employees. I'm excited to come to work every day!”

Liz Erkenbrack, Director of IT

"My favorite part about working at Dominion is the culture. I’ve worked here for 38 years and have always been able to learn and grow throughout my career. The people really make it an enjoyable place to work. Dominion has always has been my second family."

Lianne Weed, Switchgear Sales and Bid Coordinator

“When people ask me what it’s like to work at Dominion, I tell them first that I LOVE my company and wouldn’t work anywhere else. Coming from an extensive sales background, I can say that Dominion is different from any other company I’ve worked for. Here, you don’t feel like just another face or worker bee. It's not ‘just a job.’ Most people have been here for years and are more like family than coworkers. That speaks highly about the company and how valued employees feel. Most people who come to work here, stay here. After 3 years, I’m still the 'new kid,' but my opinion is just as valued as those who have been here 20+ years. Dominion Electric has provided me a feeling of security, knowing that I don’t just have a job anymore, I have a career. I have a path in life and that feels really good.”

Stephanie Gutierrez, Order Fulfillment Specialist

"I’ve worked other places, but I like Dominion because when they say this is a family business, it’s true. I have never before worked somewhere that I truly feel comfortable, and like family with my co-workers. No matter our background, we always come together through the good and the bad. To me, this company is where compassion, understanding, and education are goals every single day. Being part of such an amazing company makes me strive to always represent Dominion in its best possible light."

Catherine, Team Lead, Production Homes

"I’ve been with Dominion for 32 years because I love the work/life balance. It’s truly a family company. I guess my favorite part about working at Dominion is that I’m constantly learning new things: technology changes (like LED lighting!), we acquire a new builder customer, or we bring in a new lighting vendor. I could work somewhere else, but I stay because I feel respected by my bosses, my work is valued, and I know I’m an important part of our team. I came because of the people. I stay because I helped create the Production Homes Department and I want to continue to help it grow and prosper. Plus, I fell in love with lighting and I can’t imagine doing anything else or doing it anywhere else!"

Makenzie Milburn, Counter Sales, Chantilly

“I’m pretty new to Dominion. So, when people ask me what it’s like working here, I tell them it’s like a big family. It’s such a nice company to work for—and everyone is more than willing to help you learn what you need to know, plus some. And if you can’t find something, you can ask anyone and they’ll try to help, or point you in the right direction. This company is full of great and helpful people.”
