Arlington, VA, June 22, 2024 — Dominion Electric Supply & Dominion Lighting, an esteemed family-owned company serving the DMV region for over 80 years, announces the retirement of Stephen Krooth, effective immediately. Krooth’s departure follows the recent acquisition of the company by Border States, headquartered in Fargo, ND.

Stephen Krooth has served as CEO for the past 12 years, during which he has made monumental contributions to Dominion. Under his leadership, the company:

• Built a state-of-the-art distribution center in Curtis Bay, MD.
• Reimagined and revitalized two lighting showrooms, earning over 20 awards for excellence.
• Expanded the commercial lighting program, setting the foundation for its transition to a nationwide initiative.
• Grew the company to over 320 dedicated employees.
